Cleansing Oils Review

I'm going to do a post about the benefits of cleansing oils, for all skin types, at a later date. However, over the last couple of months, I've been testing our a different cleansing oil for 4 weeks to see if there are any marked improvement in my skin texture and tone.

I've been a fan of Elemis for over 2 years, essentially its the first brand I fell head over heels in love with, on my journey to becoming Becky. Whilst I'm an advocate for sticking to what works, I can also admit that sometimes you skin reaches a plateau... Products you know and love, just stop working. Rather than chuck them in the trash...sometimes, its time to switch things up and revisit your dearly beloveds after a brief break from them. More often than not, you skin is reawakened and ready to absorb the goodness of these products.

Elemis Nourishing Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil

What can I say? I love this product. I've been using it for over 2 years and my skin soaks it all in. I used to have very oily skin, and I suffered the break out from hell a few years back. When someone mentioned oil cleansing to me, I truly was not convinced. I bought this, and it stayed on my shelf for months. One evening, I decided to give it a try .. and I've never looked back. It comes with a handy pump dispenser, which means you're able to dispense and measure with ease. 2 pumps is all you need. Massage the oil into dry skin in upward motions, add warm water to activate a really creamy emulsified lather that gives the skin a deep cleanse. I tend to take it off with a hot flannel, but you can rinse it off to reveal a clear, bright and clean complexion.

What I love about it

For a newbie to oil cleansing, this oil is perfect. Its light, smells fresh and does not leave you feeling eeky about slathering oil on your face. And the best part? It works. Its that simple. Your skin feels soft and nourished and you will see marked improvements in you tone and complexion.

What I don't love

At £31 for 195ml, Its probably not the most pocket friendly.. I however have been able to stretch mine for 6 months in the past, a little goes a long way.

Price Point: £31 for 195ml

Sanctuary Spa Ultimate Facial Cleansing Oil

Awesome product. Really gets the grime and dirt off. This cleanser is suitable for all skin types, and is super easy to use as it comes with a nifty pump dispenser. One or two pumps into the palm of your hand and gently massage into dry face. Next, add a few drops of warm water and feel the oil emulsify and work its magic. You can then wipe off with a warm wet muslin or rinse off with warm water.

What I love about it

I love products that do exactly what they say they do. This product is infused with a special blend of 4 oils, providing a gentle cleanse, effectively removing make-up and grime, leaving your skin feeling VERY soft and clean without the greasy residue.

What I don't love

Honestly? I hated the smell. Kinda reminded me of Cod liver Oil.. I found myself having to hold my breath a lot of the time. Real pity, as I really liked this product and found it very effective.

Una Brennan Super Facialist Vitamin C Skin Renewing Cleansing Oil

Vitamin C enriched advanced anti ageing and high performance cleanser, certainly gave me a more youthful, healthy glow, smoother, softer skin and definite re texturised skin appearance.

This product is suitable for all skin types, glides quite nicely on the skin and activates into a nice creamy lather once warm water is applied post application on dry skin. As with the other products, I only needed one or 2 drops ( tut tut.. we'll get to that in a minute), in the palm of my hand to work into my skin. Again, another product that did exactly what it said it would. Can be used as a first cleanse or as part of a double cleanse routine.

What I loved about it

The SMELL!! OMG a burst of sexy citrus goodness. I cannot tell you how happy my face would feel afterwards and how wide my grin would be as I smelled my face in bed. The added vitamin c also added a bit of a punch to this product. My skin glowed and looked super nourished and radiant. Definitely my favourite of the 3 products.

What I don't love

Would have been awesome if this product had a handy pump mechanism, helps reduce waste and allows for more effective measuring.
